A 20-year-old motorcyclist traveling with a group of other riders that were popping wheelies along a Volusia County road, was arrested after he flipped off police, ran a red light, and was struck by a pickup truck.
Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Joshua Richardson after he and a group of other motorcyclists led police on a high-speed chase in Ormond Beach on Friday, March 3.
According to VCSO, a deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a group of motorcyclists who were popping wheelies along Old Dixie Highway. After the deputy turned on his emergency lights, the group began fleeing at a high speed, driving recklessly and passing vehicles across solid double lines.

As the group approached the intersection of North Beach Street and West Granada Boulevard, they ignored a red light and continued fleeing at a high speed.
One of the motorcyclists, later identified as Richardson, turned around, flipped off pursuing deputies, and continued through the intersection before he was struck by a pickup truck.
Dash cam video captured the moment that Richardson flipped police off, sped through the red light, and was struck by a passing truck.
After he was struck, Richardson attempted to run away from the scene before he was apprehended by deputies.
Richardson is being charged with fleeing or alluding police at high speeds, resisting an officer without violence, and leaving the scene of a crash. He was arrested on Saturday, March 4 and was released after posting bail just four hours later.
