A 72-year-old woman was killed and two other people were seriously injured after their vehicle was hit by a pickup truck on Narcoossee Road.
The fatal accident took place near the intersection of Boggy Creek Road and Narcoosee Road on Wednesday, March 8, at around 8:41.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 71-year-old Palm Bay man was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on Narcoosee Road, approaching the intersection with Boggy Creek Road in the left turn lane.
The man attempted to turn left to travel westbound on Boggy Creek Road and entered the direct path of a 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan being driven by a 73-year-old man from Southfield, Michigan.
As a result, the front of the pickup truck struck the left side of the Volkswagen.
The driver and both passengers, a 72-year-old woman from Southfield, Michigan and a 59-year-old woman from Kent, Washington, were all transported as trauma alerts to the Osceola Regional Hospital.
The 72-year-old woman was pronounced deceased at the hospital, while the other two occupants sustained serious injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the crash.
