Hazardous waste, electronics disposal in Ocoee this weekend

Orange County officials will host a dropoff for residents looking to dispose of hazardous waste and unwanted electronics.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 11, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Orange County Service Center, which is located at 475 Story Road in Ocoee.

Accepted hazardous waste items include fertilizers and pesticides, pool chemicals, household chemicals, gasoline, antifreeze, used engine oil, tires, propane tanks, paint thinners, oil-based paints, and non-alkaline batteries, among others.

Accepted electronics include computers, televisions, VCRs, DVD players, stereos, CD players, and fax machines.
