Two residents of Belle Isle were injured after the semi-truck they were traveling in overturned on Interstate 10 this weekend.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place on eastbound I-10, near mile marker 295, on Saturday, March 11, at around 9 a.m.
A 48-year-old Belle Isle man was driving a 2019 Freightliner tractor-trailer eastbound on the highway, in the outside travel lane.
For unknown reasons, the vehicle traveled onto the south shoulder. The driver overcorrected and, as a result, lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle overturned onto its right side and slid along the south shoulder of the highway until coming to rest partially in the outside lane of I-10 eastbound.
The driver and his passenger, a 39-year-old man from Belle Isle, were both transported to the Lake City Medical Center with minor injuries.
