Eddie J. Crayton

Sgt. Eddie J. Crayton, of Orlando, departed this life on Friday, March 10, 2023. Eddie was born on June 12, 1946 in Leary, GA to the late Rosetta and George Crayton. Eddie served in the US Army and earned the rank of Sergeant prior to his discharge in 1968. During his military service, he faught in the Vietnam war and earned 2 Purple Hearts. After his military service, he worked for the US Postal service.

Eddie was a dedicated family man. He loved fishing, bowling, watching soap operas, and he was a die hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a member of St. John Baptist Church, Orlando before his health began to decline. He instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all of his family to follow. PaPa, as he was affectionately known, was a devoted father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted daughters, Sheila (Domingo) Felder, Lynette Fort, LaFaith McCall; sister, Helen Denmark; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023, 8:00 AM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando with Pastor Glendy Hamilton, officiating. Interment: Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, FL with full military honors.
