John W. Counts

John W. Counts passed away on February 17, 2023 at the age of 56.

He is survived by his wife Cynthia, daughter Jordyn, mother Barbara, sister Nancy Counts Gerber (Richard Gerber); nephew Sam Gerber; niece Stephanie Gerber and his favorite co-pilot, his beloved Aussie, Caya.

John was a St. Petersburg, FL native, graduating from Lakewood High School and later from the University of South Florida. John was a financial advisor in Pinellas County, FL for over 20 years.

John was a loving husband, father, uncle, son, brother, coach and friend.

He served as a City Councilman in Seminole for over a decade as well as most recently serving on the Board of Trustees for the Seminole Firefighters Pension Trust Fund.

He found great joy in coaching youth sports; something that started with his daughter in recreational soccer and Little League softball. Even when her softball days came to the end, he continued coaching at the high school level. Most recently as the head coach at Clearwater Central Catholic. He developed so many lasting relationships in the softball community that he enjoyed being a part of.

A visitation service will begin at 5:00 p.m., and a service will be taking place at 6:00 p.m., on
March 24, 2023.
