A 22-year-old man was killed after a vehicle turned in front of him while he was riding his motorcycle in Deltona.
According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal accident took place just after 6 p.m. on Friday, March 17.
Antonio E. Brown was riding his motorcycle northbound on Providence Boulevard when a southbound minivan attempted to make a turn onto Murphy Avenue.
The van turned into the path of the northbound motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to strike the rear passenger side of the van.
Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say that he was wearing a full-face helmet.
The driver of the minivan was not injured in the crash and remained on scene. Police say there were no signs of impairment detected during the initial phase of the investigation.
Friends and family have taken to social media to grieve the loss of Brown, who was born in Connecticut. A GoFundMe has been established in his name to help his family and mother, Liza, with funeral costs.
