A Clermont man who consented to a search of his vehicle was arrested after police found over 30 grams of cocaine and a firearm.
Nathaniel Cortes Velez, 31, was arrested on Sunday, March 19, by Clermont Police Department officers after a traffic stop.
According to police, Velez was pulled over after an officer observed his vehicle driving erratically in the area of State Road 50 and East Avenue.
The officer conducted a traffic stop on Velez and, during the stop, was given consent to search the vehicle.
During their search, officers discovered a loaded pistol within reach, as well as approximately 30.3 grams of a white powdery substance that was packaged in individual baggies.
The substance field tested positive for cocaine.
Velez was arrested and charged with armed trafficking of cocaine.
