A 33-year-old Lakeland woman was killed while she was attempting to cross an Osceola County road to obtain information for a tow truck driver to retrieve her disabled vehicle.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal accident took place on Osceola-Polk County Line Road on Monday, March 27, at around 9:07 p.m.
The woman’s boyfriend says the couple was driving along the road when they broke down just west of Sandy Oak Drive in Davenport.
The woman crossed Osceola-Polk County Line Road to verify an address and provide that information to a tow truck company.
As she was attempting to return to the vehicle, she crossed the road and was struck by a black Nissan Maxima being driven by a 32-year-old man from New York.
The woman was transported to Reunion Hospital Orlando Health, where she was pronounced deceased.
