Twelve restaurants in the Orlando area were ranked among the top 100 establishments across the state of Florida.
Yelp named its Top 100 Restaurants in Florida for 2023 this week, including a dozen that are based in and around Orlando.
Near the top of the list was JAM Hot Chicken, which came in at number 4. Opened in December 2021, the restaurant is located at 400 W New England Avenue in Winter Park. JAM Hot’s menu features sandwiches, tenders, and meal boxes with chicken prepared at five different heat levels. In addition to chicken, the menu has a collection of sides, slaws, and milkshakes. Only two of the local restaurants that made this year’s list were repeats from Yelp’s Top 100 Restaurants in Florida for 2022. That includes Chicken Fire, which rose 71 spots from 2022 to number 10 in 2023, as well as Selam Ethiopian & Eritrean Cuisine, which fell from 2 to 65.
The list also featured two pizza places that have opened Orlando locations in the past couple of years, including SoDough Square, which celebrated its grand opening at 419 East Michigan Street last May.

According to Yelp, the company identified and ranked restaurants using a number of factors, including total volume and ratings of reviews between January 1, 2022 and January 1, 2023.
Yelp also noted that all businesses on the list have a “passing health score” as of January 9, 2023.
Last year, Mee Thai Restaurant was forced to close three separate times after failed health inspections. Yelp ranked that restaurant at number 43 on its 2022 list.
