Garbage truck catches fire in Longwood

Firefighting crews were called to a Longwood community after a garbage truck caught fire.

Crews from the Seminole County Fire Department and Longwood Fire Department were called to the scene of a fire at 1705 EE Williamson Road in Longwood at around 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29.

Upon arrival, firefighters began working to contain a fire that broke out in a garbage truck, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings that were less than 50 feet away.

No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze. The fire is currently under investigation and no reason was given for its start.
