Multiple performing artists including legendary guitarist Pat Travers will headline a popular jazz festival in its return to Maitland this weekend.
The Maitland Jazz and Blues Festival will take place on on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1 at the city’s Independence Square, which is located at 1776 Independence Lane.
The free show is open to the public and will showcase 13 bands on two stages, food, drinks, crafts, vendors and family activities.
The show is headlined by Canadian rock guitarist Pat Travers, who will cap off the series at 9 p.m. on Saturday.
New York-based vocalist Lucy Yeghiazaryan will also make a special appearance with the Jeff Rupert Quartet at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
Local singer Michelle Amato, who has performed and recorded with an incredibly diverse array of artists, including Liza Minnelli, Quincey Jones, Al Green, Sandi Patty, Jon Secada, Michael McDonald, Donna Summer, Jon Hendricks, Celia Cruz, and Rita Marley, will take the stage at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
