Heathrow motorcyclist killed in head-on collision

A 53-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision in Volusia county this weekend.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the Heathrow man was traveling southbound on State Road 415 on a Harley Davidson.

For unknown reasons, the man’s motorcycle crossed over the center line and into the path of a Honda CRV being driven by a 43-year-old Port Orange woman.

The vehicles collided head-on as a result, and the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Port Orange woman was transported to Halifax Hospital in serious but stable condition.
