Free training for Orange County business owners, entrepreneurs

Orange County and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development will host a free training event for small businesses and business leaders looking to learn more about state and federal opportunities.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will host the event on Wednesday, April 5, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the National Entrepreneur Center, which is located at 3201 E Colonial Drive, Suite A20 in Orlando.

The two-hour program will include information about federal and state programs, economic opportunities, workforce development and technical information related to grant contracts, labor and wages and compliance.

Federal grant applicants and local building contractors and subcontractors are welcome to participate in the class.

Multiple speakers will make remarks during the event, including Jose Alvarez, the HUD Region IV Administrator, as well as Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings.
