A 30-year-old burglar was caught in the act by Orlando police after a woman entered her home and found him attempting to steal over $4,500 worth of electronics, jewelry, and cash.
Orlando Police Department officers responded to reports of a burglary at a home off Walnut Street near Lake Davis on March 23 just before 3 p.m.
According to court records, a female homeowner left her home to meet a friend for lunch and upon her return, she encountered Malcom inside of her home.
The woman fled the scene and went to a neighbor’s home, where the two contacted police.
An Orlando police officer arrived on the scene a short time later and caught Malcom has he was exiting the home. The officer held Malcom at taser point until additional officers arrived at the scene.

Malcom was carrying multiple garbage bags and a backpack that were filled with various items that were taken from inside the residence. Those items included a laptop, an Oculus VR, surround sound speakers, a jewelry box, prescription drugs, and $500 in cash.
The total value of the stolen property was estimated at $4,500.
Malcom was arrested and transported to the Orange County Jail. He faces multiple charges related to this case, including burglary of an occupied structure, grand theft, and criminal mischief, among others. Malcom is also facing charges in two other burglary cases.
