With great sorrow the Tomlinson, Gierke, Bellows families announce the untimely passing of our kind and giving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and beloved friend, Deborah Gierke Tomlinson, 60 of Maitland, FL. Debbie passed April 2nd, 2023 of heart failure from which she could not be revived
Debbie is a kind, gentle and beautiful soul possessing rare relational gifts. She loved serving others, especially young children and the elderly. A loving friend to many.
Debbie was born June 15th, 1962, to Don and Joan Gierke in Orlando. After graduating from Winter Park High School in 1980, Debbie went on to complete Elementary Education studies at UCF in 1984. Married to Greg Tomlinson in 1985, Debbie and Greg went on to have 3 children, Megan (1989), Mitchell (1991) and Michael (1993).
Debbie loved to make things beautiful, a natural overflow of the beauty she had in abundance within. Decorating was her passion as was a new, first grand-baby, Noelle Grace whom she adored. Abundant kindness, mercy and grace shown to all were evident virtues in Debbie’s life and are the full dimensions of loss felt by those of us suffering her premature passing.
Debbie is preceded in death by parents Don and Joan Gierke. Debbie will be greatly missed by her husband, children, Megan, Mitchell, and Michael (wife Melyssa) and by Chip and Carolyn Gierke, Bill and Jayne Gierke, Karen and Rick Bellows, Bobby and Jennifer Gierke and aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and all the friends her beautiful life did lovingly touch.
Funeral services will be held on April 12th, 2023, at 11:00am at Asbury United Methodist Church (220 Horatio Ave W, Maitland, FL 32751).
