We are sad to announce the passing of Earlene DeGagne of Kissimmee, Florida. She died at age 68 on April 20, 2023. Earlene passed away after a long battle with serious health issues. She fought the good fight. Earlene was born on August 21, 1954, to Roy and Pauline Winfrey in Kissimmee. After Earlene graduated from Osceola High School in 1972, She went on to study Associate in Science – Legal Assisting at Valencia Community College.
After graduating with a degree in legal assistance, she started with Hewlett Packard and went on to Darden Inc as a Licensing Manager kickstarting a 20+ year career in the legal department specializing in restaurant licensing.
Earlene loved spending time with family, attending church and found purpose going on mission trips. She developed a passion for ballroom dancing with her husband. Earlene traveled abroad to 28 countries and visited countless states during her lifetime. Her two grandchildren were the great loves of her life. Earlene had a laugh that would fill up a room and make you laugh even if you had no idea what was so funny. Petite in stature, feisty and strong-willed would be an accurate summation at first glance, but underneath it all, she was warm, caring, welcoming, and showed all that knew her what unconditional love looked like.
Those she’ll meet in Heaven include her parents, paternal/maternal grandparents, and great-grandparents as well as her Uncle Daniel and Aunt Allene.
Earlene will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 35 years, Jack; One and Only Child: Angie Atkinson and grandchildren: Trevor and Kyle Atkinson, brother, Jimmy Winfrey and sister-in-law, Beth Winfrey, brother, Kenneth Winfrey, brother Willis Winfrey and sister-in-law, Miriam Winfrey, as well as 7 nieces and nephews, along with numerous relatives and dear friends.
