New café approved for space at Orlando City Hall

A new cafe will move into Orlando City Hall this summer.

During the Monday, April 24 meeting of the Orlando City Council, commissioners approved a lease agreement with City Beautiful Cafe. The restaurant will move into the first floor of the building, taking over a 1,912-square-foot space that was formerly occupied by 4Rivers.

City Beautiful Cafe is owned by AJ Campofiore, the man behind Bem Bom, a restaurant in the Audubon Park district. Although Bem Bom specializes in Mexican and Portuguese cuisine, the new cafe will provide a wide range of breakfast and lunch options.

According to city records, the menu will feature breakfast “sammys,” sandwiches, wraps, burgers, and sliders, among other options.

The initial lease term will be five years, beginning May 1 and ending April 30, 2028.

Campofiore says he hopes to open the new restaurant in July.

During Monday’s meeting, commissioners expressed excitement for the new cafe. Mayor Buddy Dyer praised Campofiore’s current restaurant, citing one burger that he believes everyone should try.

“The best lamb burger in all of Orlando is at Bem Bom,” said Mayor Dyer.

Over the past year, several cafes and restaurants have opened new locations in downtown Orlando. That includes Double O’s Coffee Drive-Thru, which opened last month along Colonial Drive, Solita Tacos and Margaritas, which opened this past holiday season, and Stemma Craft Coffee, which opened its doors on Orange Avenue last October.
