Police are asking the public for information that will help them find those responsible for killing a 38-year-old man who was killed by gunfire in Oak Ridge.
Manuel DeJesus Guevara-Perez was found suffering from gunshot wounds by Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies in the 1600 block of Americana Boulevard on Sunday, April 23.
According to authorities, deputies made contact with Guevara-Perez around 5:30 a.m., while he was still conscious. Guevara-Perez was able to speak with deputies and told them that he believed the suspect(s) fled the scene in a black sedan.
Guevara-Perez, who celebrated his 38th birthday on April 5, was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Central Florida Crimeline is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for any information that may lead to an arrest in the case.

Guevara-Perez’s murder comes just weeks after a 29-year-old woman was found dead a few blocks away. In that incident, the body of Michele Lynn Mossuto was found in the parking lot of a local tire shop. Police have not yet made any arrests in that case.
Last week, Darrius Jaques Garrett was sentenced to spend seven years and six months in federal prison in connection with a shooting at a shopping plaza located at 2200 Americana Boulevard in May 2022. Despite sustaining gunshot wounds in his abdomen and torso, the victim in that case survived.
