A 50-year-old man from Volusia County is facing 25 child pornography charges after a search warrant uncovered dozens of graphic images depicting sexual abuse of children as young as 2-years-old.
Troy Sautbine, of Astor, was arrested on Friday, April 21 by Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputies on 25 counts of possession of sexual performance by a child.
According to authorities, the arrest follows a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. That tip alerted detectives to a file uploaded to a social media account later determined to be Sautbine’s.
After a search warrant was obtained for his account, detectives discovered multiple photos and videos depicting sexual abuse of women, teenage girls, and young children. Authorities say the girls ranged in age from as young as two to 10 years old.
Word documents were also recovered from Sautbine’s phone that contained short stories describing sexual abuse of children, cannibalism, and other acts of violence. When asked about the written content, Sautbine indicated that he was participating in a role-playing fantasy.
The VCSO Child Exploitation Unit has not identified any victims of abuse, and it appears that the files in his possession were dowloaded, not produced locally. Anyone with information about this or any other case involving sexual abuse of children is asked to contact the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Child Exploitation Unit at 386-323-3574.
Sautbine is currently incarcerated at the Volusia County Jail on $625,000 bond.
