A Vietnamese restaurant near downtown Orlando was forced to temporarily close its doors after multiple health code violations during a recent inspection, including the presence of rodent activity.
Saigon Noodle and Grill, which is located at 2405 E Washington Street/101 N Bumby Avenue in Orlando’s Milk District, was temporarily closed on Wednesday, May 10, after failing a health inspection conducted by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
According to the report, at least 30 health code violations were cited during the inspection, including 9 considered high priority.
Among the violations was the presence of rodent activity, as evidenced by 57 rodent droppings found around the restaurant. Those rodents were found on a stove, next to woks in the kitchen, near prep tables, and in a soup kitchen, among other places.
In addition to the rodent activity, the inspector issued a stop sale on eggs, which were being stored at too high of a temperature.
The restaurant was reinspected on Thursday, May 11, and was permitted to reopen, despite 12 violations remaining.
