Rob’s professional career as a licensed optician spanned nearly 50 years in Michigan and Florida. He was a master teacher and mentor of his craft.

Rob was a Hawaiian shirt wearing, fun-loving jokester, who brought a lot of laughter, whether goading kids to try something mom and dad might not approve of or playing pranks. Rob was a computerphile, always trying new technology. He was an avid action and sci-fi movie and TV buff, who rated all movies by the amount of action and the ending. Rob was a high school wrestler and that carried over into being a professional wrestling fan. He was known for his love of playing darts, including league play and teaming with his brother in competitions. Music was an important part of his life. Rob was a trumpet player and played the organ. His famous trumpet was passed down to two generations of family members.

Rob was predeceased by his parents, an infant sister and brothers-in-law. Rob is survived by his loving, supportive wife of 43 years, Lois (Roberts) Scheer; brother Larry (Annette) Scheer of Northville, Michigan; sisters-in-law, Irene (Jim) Peck of Merrill, Michigan and Jane Corless of Middleburg, Florida.
