An Orlando man claimed a victory in the nation’s most famous quiz competition game show this week, joining another local man who claimed the top prize just last month.
On Wednesday, May 24, Ed Petersen claimed the top prize on Jeopardy, walking home with $7,999.
Petersen, who works as a planning technician, struggled early on, missing multiple questions in route to $0 in the Jeopardy Round. Petersen roared back to finish Double Jeopardy with $10,400, just $400 behind the leader.

Although all three contestants responded incorrectly to Final Jeopardy, Petersen wagered less than his opponents and ended up eking out the victory.
Petersen joins another Orlando resident, Robbi Ramirez, as Jeopardy champions this year. In April, Ramirez won $23,800 after correctly answering the Final Jeopardy question about Walt Disney.
Petersen will defend his one-day victory on Thursday, May 25, at 7 p.m. on WFTV.
