Ruth Eleanor Marcantel

Ruth Eleanor Marcantel lived 86 beautiful years. She was born in Yellow Springs, Ohio on February 28, 1937. After marrying her husband, the Navy brought them to Portsmouth, Virginia where she raised her two oldest sons, Joffray and Brian. After her husband’s retirement they settled in Winter Park, Florida to be close to family. She went on to have two daughters, Evelyn and Margaret.

She was a faithful and loyal wife, to her husband Joffray James Marcantel, Sr.. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband and her brother, Roger Maxwell.

Ruth is survived by her sister, Suzanne Thomas, her four children, Joffray (Jency) Marcantel, Jr. Brian Marcantel, Evelyn (David) Simek and Margaret (Jeff) Brown. Her grandchildren Steven (Jessica) Cockrell, Brittany (Jorge) Rizo, Joffray, III (Megan) Marcantel, Justine Marcantel, Brian Paul Marcantel, Megan Brown and Taylor Brown. Ruth’s great-grandchildren, Stella Marcantel, John Marcantel, and soon; Baby Rizo and Baby Cockrell.

We will miss her dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations please be made to Advent Health Hospice that we thank for the wonderful care given to her.

A graveside service for Ruth will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Dr., Winter Park, FL 32789.
