A 43-year-old man is facing felony charges after police identified him as a suspect in an armed robbery at a convenience store near downtown Orlando.
Luis Omar Ubiles was arrested on Thursday, May 25, by Orlando Police Department officers in connection with a commercial robbery that took place earlier this month.
According to OPD, Ubiles entered the Big B Supermarket located at 749 South Westmoreland Drive on the morning of May 3, 2023.
During his visit, Ubiles allegedly began waving a firearm at the store clerk and demanding money. After he was given cash, he fled the scene.
Over the past several weeks, OPD Violent Crimes Detectives investigated the case and eventually identified the suspect as Ubiles.
On Thursday, the OPD Tactical Anti-Crime unit arrested Ubiles without incident. He was booked into the Orange County Jail and faces charges of robbery with a firearm, as well as possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is currently being held at the jail without bond.
