Lost hiker rescued on trail in Seminole County

Emergency crews were able to find and rescue a hiker after she became lost on a Seminole County trail last week.

On Friday, June 2, Seminole County Fire Department crews were called to the hiking trails near the Environmental Studies Center located at 2985 Osprey Trail in Longwood.

A resident went hiking near the center and got lost while she was trying to navigate back.

She contacted 911 and a dispatcher sent her a URL link so that she could share her GPS coordinates with emergency personnel.

The woman was found safe a short time thereafter with no injuries.
