Gloria Pickard

Gloria Jean Pickard was born August 18, 1953, in Notasulga, Alabama to Henry McQueen and Mamie McQueen. She attended Phyllis Wheatley School in Apopka, Florida. Jean one (1) of five (5) children and was the eldest daughter of Henry and Mamie. She dedicated her life to Christ during her adult life. She was a faithful servant to the Lord until her last day.

In 1979, she met Lue James (Smokie) and they were united in Holy Matrimony in 1994. Jean was a loving and dedicated caregiver to the Bowman and Gleason Families. She was known for her smile and her delightful laugh, that filled the room. She opened her door and heart to anyone that was in need. Gloria was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She was the glue that held her family together and she would want that bond to continue.

Gloria Jean Pickard was preceded in death by her husband, Lue James Pickard, father, Henry McQueen, mother, Mamie McQueen, brother, Willie J. Gilmore and sister-in-law, Lovie C. Gilmore.

Gloria leaves to cherish precious memories to her daughters, Joyce Simmons (Stanley, Sr.) and Barbara Williams, all of Orlando, Florida; grandsons, Thaddius Williams (Tylicia) of Eustis, Florida, Jeromy Williams of Apopka, Florida and Stanley Simmons, II of Orlando, Florida; granddaughters, Brittany Williams and Brianna Simmons, both of Orlando, Florida; step-sons, Gary Thornton (Lillie) of Ocala, Florida; siblings, Mack McQueen of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Mary Gilmore of Orlando, Florida and Ricky McQueen (Cynthia) of Montgomery, Alabama; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Phillips (Oliver) and Gloria Pickard, both of Apopka, Florida; a host of great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
