A 41-year-old Orlando woman has claimed two separate $1 million prizes from two different scratch-offs that she purchased two months apart.
On Monday, June 5, the Florida Lottery announced that Altovise Morris claimed two $1 million prizes from the 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game. Morris chose to receive both winnings as lump sum payments of $820,000 each, totaling $1.64 million in earnings.
In November, lottery officials say that Morris traveled to the organization’s headquarters to claim her first $1 million prize from the scratch-off game. During her visit, Morris told officials “I’ll be back!”
In January 2023, Morris went back to headquarters to claim her second $1 million prize from the same game. Morris says that she purchased the scratch-off right after she bought her dream home.
“After closing on my house, I stopped at a Sunoco Foodmart in Clermont, and it happened again. I still can’t believe this is happening,” said Morris.
Morris purchased her first winning ticket at the 7-Eleven located at 13688 West Colonial Drive in Winter Garden. She purchased her second winning ticket at the aforementioned foodmart, which is located at 940 South U.S. Highway 27 in Clermont. Each retailer has received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
500X THE CASH is a $50 scratch-off game that features a top prize of $25 million, which is the largest ever offered on a Florida Scratch-Off game. It offers the best odds to become a millionaire, with its overall odds of winning at 1-in-4.5.
