A 4-foot by 4-foot hole that opened up last night on South Orange Avenue has been impacting traffic throughout the day.
According to the Orlando Police Department, at around 8 p.m. on Monday, June 5, a roadway depression opened near the intersection of South Orange Avenue and West Grant Street.
The depression was reported and crews from the city’s Public Works department have been working to address the issue.
Upon initial investigation, authorities determined that a sanitary sewer line experienced a leak and caused the depression.
The area has been secured and one northbound and southbound lane remain closed as of this morning, as OPD patrol officers assist with directing traffic. Officials say the closure will remain in place until a full assessment can be made and the roadway is clear.
