Edmond Michael Nugent, 75 years old, of Orlando, Florida, originally from Plainview, New York, went home to the Lord on June 8, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
He served two tours in Vietnam and was a decorated combat war veteran. He received the Purple Heart among other medals of valor. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from New York Institute of Technology, and joined the NYPD as a police officer, retiring in 1997. He then went on to serve as a peacekeeper in Bosnia and Serbia.
He is survived by his loving wife, Laura, and four daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer (Alex), Tara (Ted), Lisa (Joe), and Caroline. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Dylan, Olivia, Luca, Lance, Aiden, Avery, Lilly, and Jayden. He will be greatly missed; may he rest in peace.
Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at 9:30am Friday, June 16, 2023 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, FL 32754.
