Universal Orlando Resort has unveiled a popular video game as the theme for its headlining haunted house at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights event.
On Thursday, park officials announced that the popular video game series The Last of Us will be featured as one of this year’s ten haunted houses.
“Enter the overgrown and perilous world of Naughty Dog’s video game in real life, as you fight to survive and navigate your way through an abandoned Pittsburgh with Joel and Ellie,” reads a post on the Halloween Horror Nights Twitter account.
Originally released in 2013, the video game reached new heights of popularity in January of this year after it was turned into a television series that aired on HBO.
The haunted house will take visitors on a journey through a post-Apocalyptic Pittsburgh as they attempt to stay clear of clickers, hunters, and other creatures found throughout the series.
This year’s Halloween Horror Nights will be the 32nd installment in the series and will kick off on September 1, 2023.
Officials have not released the details for the additional haunted houses, but say that there will be ten in total, along with five “sinister scare zones,” themed food and drinks, and themed merchandise.
