Donald Stahlak, 90, a proud veteran of the Army, passed away on June 11, 2023, in Kissimmee, FL after a long, hard-fought battle with the inevitable foe that is time. The son of Francis Stahlak and Virginia Rector, Donald was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He was born on July 18th, 1932, attended Mt. Carmel high school and at the age of eighteen, Donald joined the U.S. Army.
It was his privilege to serve his country in the Korean War, and his family was so very honored and grateful for his service. He was a business owner, a coach, an iron worker, and he worked at the Disney golf courses for 15 years after his retirement. Donald met Arline Gorney and shortly thereafter they married in 1957.
Arline preceded Donald in death in 2015 and Donald was survived by his four children, their significant others, and his seven grandchildren: Donald Stahlak (Lisa), Debbie Straka (Doug), Darline Burke (Bruce), Dawn Parks (Kenneth), Alex, Nathan (Taylor), Nicholas, Emily, Dawn (Gabe), Sarah, and Benjamin.
Donald enjoyed doing puzzles, swimming, golfing, going for walks, visiting theme parks, watching game shows, bowling and spending time with his family and friends. He was deeply loved by all who knew him, and he will be missed.
Services will be held at Osceola Memory Gardens on Friday, June 23rd, 2023, at 4pm.
