Ernestina Alfonso, 81, passed onto her eternal rest on June 18, 2023, in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Ernestina was born in La Catalina, Cuba on November 11, 1941, to parents Celestina Garcia Hernandez and Manuel Rodriguez Perez, both of whom precede her in death.
Her passions included family, friends, pets, music, dancing and laughing. Ernestina “Mima” loved to cook and always graciously opened her home to the company of family, friends and new faces alike, making sure they always felt right at home.
Ernestina leaves to treasure the memories of her life, her daughter, Noraida “Nori” Alfonso-Salley (Thomas P. Salley); sons, Elioberto “Al” Alfonso and Roberto Alfonso; grandchildren, John Serrano (Gabrielle Hurst-Serrano) and Thomas R. Salley, Shannon Mann-Alvarenga (Joel Alvarenga) and Chris Rykrsmith (Eva Rykrsmith); great-grandchildren, Ava Serrano, Quinn Serrano, Jasper Serrano, Isabella Mann, Joey Alvarenga, Lukas Alvarenga, Kaleb Alvarenga, Selah Alvarenga, Roman Rykrsmith and Gwen Rykrsmith; siblings, Olga Lidia Rodriguez Garcia, Manuel Rodriguez Garcia, Felix Rodriguez Garcia and Israel Rodriguez Garcia, as well as many more family and friends who will miss her immensely.
Ernestina is preceded in death by her loving husband, Elioberto Miguel Alfonso; parents, Celestina Garcia Hernandez, Manuel Rodriguez Perez, and by her grandson, Elioberto Joseph “Joey” Alfonso; siblings, Mercedes Rodriguez Garcia, Emiliana Rodriguez Garcia and Ceverina Rodriguez Garcia.
