Justina Colon went to be with the Lord, peacefully in Orlando, Florida on June 13, 2023, at the age of 82. Justina was born on June 17, 1940, in Humacao, Puerto Rico, to Fernando Santana and Petra Velazquez. She later married Juan Colon on August 13, 1958, in Buffalo, New York. Justina lived her life serving others and she also worked for the Buffalo School System.
Justina was a wonderful homemaker. She loved to sing, read, cook, knit & crochet. She was a devoted Christian and a strong pillar of her community and family. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, positive attitude and unconditional love.
Justina is survived by her husband, Juan Colon; daughters, Linda Colon, Jehovana Gonzalez (Jose) and son Johnny Colon; Grandchildren, Melissa, Lynette, Alicia, Johnny, Jr., Joey, and Christina; Nieces, Anna, Diane; and nephew Angelo. She is also survived by ten Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by siblings, Roberto, Anna, and Maximo; Grandson, Michael; Nieces, Zulma and Annette.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 6 to 8pm.
A funeral service is scheduled for June 24, 2023, at 2:00PM. Reverend Raquel Santana will officiate the ceremony followed by a graveside service with the following ball bearers Jose Gonzalez, Jose Gonzalez, Jr., Joseph Castricone, Johnny Colon, Jr., Luis Velazquez, Jr., and Jared Rodriguez.
