A Vietnamese restaurant in Seminole County was forced to temporarily close again after failing a fourth health inspection over the past month for roach activity.
Never Phoget: A Taste of Vietnam, which is located at 505 SR 436 in Casselberry, was forced to close on Wednesday, June 14, and Thursday, June 15, after failing two health inspections conducted by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
According to the inspector’s report, the first inspection on June 14 turned up two health code violations. During that inspection, at least 20 dead roaches were found on a shelf in the kitchen, and nearly 30 live roaches were found in various places around the kitchen.
During the inspector’s next visit on June 15, more live and dead roaches were found, resulting in another failed inspection. The report indicates that 23 living and 11 dead roaches were found around the kitchen, including 15 that were located behind laminated posters.
The restaurant was reinspected again on June 15 and was permitted to reopen, despite the same violations existing. During that final inspection, a live roach that was found on a countertop was killed by the operator.
The closures follow two other closures due to failed health inspections in May. During those inspections, live roaches and improperly stored food resulted in the restaurant closing on May 15 and May 16. The restaurant was permitted to reopen after a third inspection, despite 10 violations remaining.
