A Chinese restaurant in Seminole County was forced to close its doors for one day after a health inspector cited multiple code violations, including the presence of rodent droppings.
China King, which is located at 3801 Lake Mary Boulevard, Suite 133 in Lake Mary, was temporarily closed on Thursday, July 6, after a health inspector with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation cited at least 22 health code violations.
Four of the violations cited were considered high priority, including the presence of rodent activity. During the visit, the inspector found over three dozen rat droppings all around the kitchen, including 25 in the rear stock room.
Additionally, multiple foods were being stored at temperatures that were too high, including bean sprouts, napa, and rice, which were all stored at 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
The restaurant, which changed ownership late last year, was permitted to reopen on Friday, July 7, despite 10 violations remaining.
