Jorge Nuñez

Jorge Nuñez , of Kissimmee FL, formerly of Queens NY, passed away on the morning of June 27, 2023 at age 74. Jorge was born in El Cocuy Colombia on November 10, 1948. He was the second child of the late Leticia and Pablo Nunez.

As a young man, he moved to New York, where he worked as a parking attendant for many years. Jorge was married to Gladys (née Acevedo) for 38 years, with whom he raised two sons. Jorge enjoyed working with his hands, and was quick to help any family in need. He was incredibly sociable, making friends everywhere he went, and bringing joy to everyone he met. In 2011 he and Gladys retired to Colombia, later moving to Florida to be near family and friends.

Jorge is survived by his wife Gladys; his sons David of Portland ME, and Maurico of Brooklyn NY, stepdaughter Pilar Cordoba of Katy TX; his siblings Mario, Luis, Yolita, Tony, Nelly, and Ruben “Dario”; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
