Detergent thief wanted by Sanford police

The Sanford Police Department is asking the public for help to identify a man wanted in connection with the theft of multiple detergent bottles from a local home improvement store.

According to SPD, the man featured in this story was seen entering the Lowe’s Home Improvement located at 3780 S. Orlando Drive on June 23.

During his visit, the man retrieved a shopping cart, walked to the aisle where the laundry detergent was located, and selected multiple brands of detergent. The man placed the items in the cart and exited the store without paying.

Police say the total value of the stolen items was around $271.97.

The man then fled the scene in a gold, 4-door vehicle.
