Trusting in the hope and promise of the resurrection, Princesse Similien died July 10, 2023. She was born October 4, 1956, the first child of Etienne and Francina Similien (both deceased). They aptly named their daughter, Princesse. Although Etienne and Francina were residents of near Port-au-Prince; little Princesse was born just over one hundred miles away in I’lle de la Tortue (Island).

In spite of not having received a formal education, Princesse obtained her doctorate degree in hard work and perseverance. She sojourned from Haiti to the United States on January 1, 1982. When able to work; she was a housekeeper. Her Christian community of faith was the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She is survived by her son, Vilhomme Jean-Francois; her daughter Major Villiana Jeanfrancois; her brother, Emmanuel Thelusma, and sisters, Viladia Policarpe, Anela Liberal, Luciana Francois, nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

A Celebration of the Resurrection in Princesse’s honor will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, at Robert Bryant Funeral Home Chapel.
