Free backpacks, supplies at back-to-school events in Longwood

The Longwood Police Department is hosting its 4th Annual Badges, Barbers, and Burgers back-to-school event and will give away 600 backpacks filled with school supplies.

The back-to-school event will be Sunday, July 30, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Community Building, which is located at 200 W. Warren Avenue in Longwood.

LPD officers will be grilling hotdogs and hamburgers, and chips, drinks, popcorn, and sweet treats will be provided at no cost. The event will include music from an onsite DJ, cornhole boards, bounce houses, and a fun kid’s zone. Additionally, bicycles and Chromebook laptop computers will be raffled periodically throughout the event. A ticket to receive a backpack will be required. Tickets can be picked up from the front lobby at the Longwood Police Department by showing your child’s report card or your ID showing a Longwood address.
