Vivienne Frew Hewlett passed on to be with our Heavenly Father on July 24, 2023. She was preceded by her husband of 52 years, Dr. George Hewlett Sr in May 2007, who has been patiently waiting for her.
She is survived by her brother Kenneth Frew Jr of Harrisburg PA, her daughter Laura Darden of Chapin SC and, her 2 sons George Hewlett Jr of Altamonte Springs FL and Dr. Todd Hewlett of Jacksonville FL, and by their combined extended families. Long list includes grandchildren Jennifer, Jay, Sandra, Jonathan, Dylan, Christopher….and 9 great-grandchildren. She would say they’re all God’s children, those not mentioned by name, and would probably ask why stop listing names. She raised a family of dogs and then some, and loved animals of all sorts, always talking about a farm to keep them all on.
Vivienne graduated from Harrisburg Hospital school of nursing 1952, married Dr. George Hewlett Sr of Newville PA in 1955. She became an OBGYN nurse practitioner in the 1970s and went into practice with her husband in Vero Beach/Sebastian FL, and finally in Orlando FL. She was athletic growing up in Pennsylvania; and a life long lover of music, in the strongest terms possible. She would say her heart remained in the Washington DC metro area, Virginia and Pennsylvania after relocating to Vero Beach FL in 1976. They, my Mom and Dad, grew to love the North Carolina mountains and woods, and journeyed back and forth from Central Florida to Western North Carolina continuously for many years. We will all, always be together.
