Lydia Theresa Keaten Bowen, age 86, passed away Tuesday, August 8th, 2023.
Lydia was born on 9/13/1936, daughter of the late Arthur T. (Buster) Keaten Jr., and Lydia T. (Mueller) Keaten. Born and raised in Hamilton Township, (Trenton) New Jersey, Mercer County. In addition to her parents, Lydia had a brother, Arthur T. (Buster) Keaten III, deceased 02/2010.
Education, graduated from Hamilton High School, NJ, then enrolled in a 5 year Nursing Program, Temple University – 2 yr program & Philadelphia General Hospital – 3 yr program. She earned a BS in Education with a major in Nursing. She was a Nurse for over 45 years, mainly working with profoundly mentally & physically challenged children, (God’s special children).
Lydia was Married on September 6th, 1959 to the late William F. Bowen of Erwin, TN, Wedding was performed in Philadelphia, they moved to Central Florida. She leaves behind her three children, Jane T. Owens, Mounty Holly, NC, Paul (Carlee) Bowen, Longwood, FL & Mark (Selina) Bowen, Altamonte Springs, FL, and her wonderful grandchildren, Kylee, Keaten, Sean, Luke, Keegan, Mylan, Kyle, Carter, and Trey. Brock deceased 2022. She also leaves behind special Niece, Lysia Urban, and Special Sisters-in-law, Patty Stapleton, Connie Caudal & Sharon Fridley & Mitze Bowen.
Lydia was an active member of John Knox Presbyterian Church in Orlando since December 1959, which merged, and is now College Park Presbyterian Church.
