The city of Orlando is asking residents to share their opinions on what they’d like to see developed as part of Under-I, an “urban hub” that will be under Interstate 4 in downtown.
On Tuesday, city officials disseminated a survey for feedback on the Under-I Development Project, which looks to transform empty downtown spaces into active spaces.
The space was created during the I-4 Ultimate construction project, when interstate bridges spanning downtown were rebuilt significantly higher and wider than previous bridges. As a result, spaces between Church Street and Washington Street have provided the city with a unique development opportunity.

Those spaces are collectively referred to as “Under-I.”
Now, the city is hoping to get feedback from residents on what they’d like to see in those spaces.
“To ensure Under-I is developed with residents in mind, we are looking for feedback on what features you believe are most important to be incorporated into this space,” reads a statement from the city.
The survey is open to all members of the Orlando community, including those who live, work, or visit downtown Orlando near the Under-I area.
