39-year-old killed after vehicle leaves I-4, strikes trees

A DeBary man was killed late Friday night after his vehicle left an Interstate 4 exit ramp and struck two trees before overturning.

The fatal accident took place on the I-4 exit ramp to DeBary Avenue, near mile marker 108, at around 11:15 p.m. on Friday, August 18.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the 39-year-old man was driving his 2016 Mercedes Benz CLA20 eastbound on I-4 when he began to exit at the DeBary Avenue exit ramp.

The man failed to negotiate a right-hand curve and, as a result, his vehicle traveled off the roadway to the left side. After going off the roadway, the vehicle struck two trees and then overturned onto its right side.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
