Kitchen fire destroys Lake Mary home

A kitchen fire tore through a home in Lake Mary, causing thousands of dollars of damage.

Crews from the Seminole County Fire Department and Lake Mary Fire Department responded to reports of a fire along Alamosa Place in Lake Mary on Thursday, August 17, at around 3:26 p.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that a kitchen had become engulfed in flames. As a result, the entire home had filled with smoke.

Crews performed a fast attack and worked to knock down the fire immediately.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

Earlier this week, a fire that was started by an unattended candle tore through a Winter Park apartment.

Seminole County fire officials say that at least four of the apartment units were displaced and occupants were connected with the American Red Cross of Central Florida for assistance.
