Our family has lost a mother, aunt, and dear friend. Hazel Engram Thompson passed away at her home in Orlando, Florida on August 14, 2023 at the age of 76.
She was born on May 26, 1947 to George Engram and Daisy Haliburton in Orlando, FL.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Sherwood. She is survived by her daughters Linda Green of St Petersburg FL, Paulette Thompson of Atlanta, GA, and Paula Thompson of Auburndale, FL.
She has always been a safe haven for her family in Orlando and beyond, always there for them in their time of need. She worked as a caregiver for the elderly for over 30 years in the Orlando area and enjoyed traveling and knitting. Hazel will always be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and huge heart.
The family will receive friends on Friday August 25, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Mitchell’s Funeral Home in Orlando.
A funeral service will be will be conducted on Saturday August 26, 2023, beginning at 12 p.m. at the Mitchell’s Funeral Home Chapel with Dr Cedrick Cuthbert officiating.
Interment will follow at Washington Park Cemetery in Orlando.
