A motorcyclist was killed over the weekend after he rear-ended a boat trailer that was being pulled by a truck in DeLand over the weekend.

The fatal accident took place on Sunday, August 27, according to the DeLand Police Department.

The motorcyclist was traveling westbound on State Road 44, near the roadway’s intersection with Service Road. The motorcyclist drove into the rear of a boat trailer that was being pulled by a truck.

The motorcyclist sustained critical injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Shortly after arriving at the hospital, the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased by medical staff.

Authorities have not released any information about the motorcyclist’s age, gender, or identity.
