The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is hosting its annual “Day with the Sheriff” essay contest for high schoolers interested in spending time learning about law enforcement.
The contest runs through September 29 and is open to Orange County students who are enrolled in grades 9 through 12.
Each essay must be 800 to 1,000 words and must focus on one of the following prompts:
- If you were a law enforcement officer, what would you do to implement and/or increase resources in community policing?
- How can we increase the bond between law enforcement and the community?
- What is the community policing and how does it benefit the community?
All essays may be emailed to awilda.mcbryde2@ocfl.net, and winners will be announced in early October.
