Emilia Journet-Hernandez, of Ocoee, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the age of 87.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Luis Hernandez. She had two children, son, Edwin Luis Hernandez; daughter, Sandra Emilia Hernandez-Gonzalez (Robert Gonzalez); grandchildren, Robert Luis, David Eric, Alexander Emilio, Daniel Journet, and Gabriel Uriel. Sisters, Lucy Earp, Patria Brignoni, preceded in death by sisters, Irma and Paula Journet, brothers, Raul, Jose, Luis, and preceded by Roberto Journet.
She was born June 30, 1936 in Las Marias, Puerto Rico to Jose Journet Medina and Otilia Martir Custodio. After moving to Chicago she married Luis Hernandez and dedicated her life to her family and loved gardening.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at DeGusipe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Gotha, FL.
