Henry Leroy Mitchell

Henry Mitchell, dedicated Husband, Father & Grandfather, and friend of many – passed away on September 5th, 2023 at the age of 80 in Orlando, Florida.
Henry was born on March 19th, 1943 to Jessy O. Mitchell & Gertrude L. Kizer in Lawrenceburg,Tennessee. Henry joined the Army in 1965 and received his G.E.D during this time. In the Army, Henry was a sharpshooter and received the National Defense Service Medal.

After leaving the Army, Henry started his first job at Orlando Sentinel Star Newspaper as a Pressman, kickstarting a 25 year career. In 1981, Henry was one of the founding members, and the first President, of South Orange Little League. Henry also volunteered for the Taft Fire Department.

In 1969, Henry and Sharon were married on February 14th. Henry and Sharon went on to have 3 children, Brian O. Mitchell, Annette M. Jansik & Keith E. Mitchell.

In the late 90’s, Henry retired and spent his time scrapbooking, and out and about doing yard work. Plundering as he would put it.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon D. Mitchell, of Orlando, Florida, and his sister, Katherine Simpson, of Lexington, Alabama. His children in order, Brian O. Mitchell, Annette M. Jansik & Keith E. Mitchell. Grandkids from oldest to youngest: Mark C. Meyers Jr., Pierce W. Meyers, Sydney G. Mitchell, Eric H. Mitchell & Rylee J. Mitchell, all from Orlando, Florida.

Services will be held at Chapel Hill in Orlando, Florida on September 11, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.
